Chapter 5

Caeli coughed as she got up and looked around. All she could remember Simon appearing from a random place and then throwing a grenade at her. At least that’s what she thought it was. She got up and saw that one of the shrapnel pieces had cut off one of her charm bracelets. She got to her feet and looked around her. His bike hadn’t taken any damage. “Some kind of armor,” She muttered as she finally saw Michael getting up from the dust. He coughed and spat some blood away into the bushes. “Damn what was his problem,” he said walking over to her. “I have no idea,” She said walking over to her boyfriend and kissing him on the cheek. They stumbled as the place shook. They looked over to the sky where a pillar of darkness was protruding through the roof of the school. They looked at each other and ran inside the school they neared the black pillar but stayed their distance away from it. Suddenly the pillar disappeared and they looked up at the balcony. They couldn’t see anything so they walked up the stair slowly so not to alert the thing above them. As the thing came in to view Caeli glared at it. Simon stood there but he was changed. She gasped as she looked at his back. Two angel wings protruded from his back. He was wearing a completely different wardrobe from before. She blinked and glared at him again. It didn’t matter, she still hated him and she always would. She didn’t have enough time for a second thought as a large explosion resounded in the direction of the front. They turned as a tank rolled in and broke through most of the school. Its barrel turned and aimed at Simon. Michael’s eyes widened as he shielded Caeli who was trying to go up the stairs and push Simon over the balcony to the tank. The tank fired and the shell zoomed towards Simon. His face went expressionless as he jumped up and pulled out his sword. The katana had a blade made of pure white metal. He spun and slashed through the shell making it explode. The shell propelled him forward at the tank. He landed on the top of the barrel and spun as he pulled out his guns and landed on the body of the tank itself. He spied the fuel tank and pointed his gun at it. “Die you bastards,” was his only utterance before the muzzle of his gun flashed and the tank exploded in a shower of shrapnel and fire. Simon stood there unharmed as he walked to the balcony. He jumped and landed on the balcony in front of Caeli and Michael. “I thought I took care of you when I arrived here,” he said casually as he went over to check on Eric and Brandt. He walked over and placed his two middle fingers on Dylane’s neck taking her pulse again. He sighed and looked over to them. “What the fuck was that?” Caeli yelled at him. Simon didn’t answer, but he did point his guns at them. “Don’t cross me again. You already have survived what I’ve done once. So if you want to keep surviving, leave!” He yelled as he sent a large gust of wind at them with his wings. They were knocked off their feet and landed with thuds. Michael was knocked out as he fell. Caeli struggled to her feet as she looked at him again. She glared at him, “I thought you were supposed to leave me alone.” He disappeared and reappeared in front of her. “Well a lot can happen in a few months,” he said as he put away his guns. She stared into his eyes and gritted her teeth. “I have a message for my enemies where you no doubt are going to go,” he said. “Your days are numbered and I will not stop until I have finished hunting you,” he said plainly. Before she could react he had kicked her in the stomach and slammed her into wall behind her. He calmly walked over to her and leaned over so he could get face to face with her. “Start running,” he said glaring. He grabbed her by the collar of her shirt and threw her through a thick window. Michael’s limp body followed her only a few seconds after. She looked at Michael’s body and then to Simon visible through the glass. “You can get him back,” a voice said behind her. She turned around and saw Colin standing behind her. He held out his hand. “Do you want to kill him?” he said plainly. She didn’t say a word but smiled and evil smile and took his hand.
